I am pretty sure everyone experiences this every once in a while, when a song or a jingle in a radio gets stuck in your head in several minutes to multiple hours. Worst, in days.
Like when you hear Frozen's "Let It Go" then you find yourself humming or singing it in your head, then the song stays there playing over and over- that’s LSS!
L.S.S. is Earworm (Ohrwurm in Germany) commonly known as Last Song Syndrome.
Why and When does it occur?
According to research (University of Cincinnati), 99% of humans have experienced earworm some time in their lives. Women, musicians and people who are neurotic, tired or stressed are most prone to earworm attacks. With musicians, it is understandable since listening to music occupies most of their time. With women, there isn't enough study yet as to why they are prone to LSS.
How to do away with it?
Even though a lot of studies has been conducted, there is no solid solution in getting rid of earworms as they exit your brain on their own. Having LSS though is perfectly normal, but in case it annoys you, here are simple tips you may want to try:
1. Listen, sing or play musical instrument with another song.
2. Have some physical activities such as working out (try not to bring your MP3 with you).
3. Listen to the song all the way through.
4. Divert to other songs by listening to online radio or search feel good music to get your brain tuned in to another song.
5. Just imagine the earworm as a real creature crawling out of your head and imagine stomping on it!
6. Perhaps, listening to relaxing some playlist might help distress you and overcome L.S.S?

I've always dreamt of having my own radio, and thanks to the internet that it made my dream into reality. MUSIC is MY LIFE. I think my skills and character have a big influence with the music I listen to.
